The Moomins: Campfire

Full name: The Moomins: Campfire in the Forest

A watercolour piece showing Moomins and co. having fun in the forest. I did this as a birthday gift to a pair of twins (they’re turning five) I’ve been babysitting this fall (mostly because they’ve been asking me to draw Moomins during the babysitting sessions… even if we were out in the park and my fingers would freeze and fall off…

I wanted to include the Hobgoblin (Taikuri, for Finnish peeps [ei se kyll paljookaan miltään maahiselta näytä… ehkä se on se parta?]) (and his bad-ass panther) but couldn’t figure out how >.<

My father also made an inappropriate joke while this piece was still incomplete (the background was practically nonexistent… except for the dark lines between the trees). He said it looked like the Moomins had been hanged! (After that I of course had to ask “Well, who do you think my next victim should be?”

I did this over the last three days and it's the size 2A (thus, scanning is impossible and you get a crappy photo).

Siis BOB WTF?]), Stinky (Haisuli), the Witch, Alicia, the Groke (mörkö<3) and the Hattifatteners are property of Tove Jansson.

EDIT// LOL, I was just told that "V" (one of the twins I gave this to as a birthday present, the other is "L") said that this was the best present <3 They even got a proper frame for it <3 I feel loved <3
